Pay down debt in a realistic (and fun) way.

NS-PF 104 – Living Debt-Free

Course Description

No one wants to be in debt. But life happens and if you’ve got debt, life has happened to you. Whether you have a rolling balance of $2,000 on your credit card or an $80,000 line of credit, debt can be a huge cause of stress—affecting both your emotional and financial wellness.

In this course, you will learn to take control of your finances and pay down your debt in a realistic way that will keep you motivated long enough to see it through to the end. No shame. No blame. No scare tactics. This course is the logistical side of Shannon Lee Simmons’ most recent book Living Debt-Free.

What you get:

  • A REALISTIC plan of attack to tackle your debt once and for all.
  • Membership to a closed and private support group where you can share (if you want) your Debt Story and plan, listen and learn from others and keep each other motivated to see this thing through… especially when the going gets tough. We need each other! This is a SHAME FREE ZONE. It’s all about spreading the Money Love.
  • Access to 3 insanely helpful and fun video tutorials
  • Customizable, easy and nerdy planning tool! (a bad-ass spreadsheet )
    • Can be updated as your life changes (as income increases so should savings)
    • Can be used to track income and expenses
    • Shows you when your goals are doable and when they are not

Shame-Free Membership Group

This is a small (20 person cohorts) closed and private group chat where other people who have similar financial situations to you can share stories, tactics, warnings and truths. We can help to lift each other up and support each other so that we are all better off. Three months membership is included in enrollment. It takes 90 days to form new habits and practice them enough times that it becomes second nature. This group aims to help keep you motivated to stick to your plan even when it’s really hard and seems like you can’t. You’ll also learn a ton of other information that will help you get control of your finances. Monthly webinars on topics that are of interest to the group: Salary negotiation, consumer proposals vs bankruptcy, how your credit report works and more. Webinars and interviews will be recorded and posted on member site.

What Will You Learn?

Module 1: Map That Debt

Let’s rip the band aid off together. Let’s open those statements, log into those bank accounts and figure out where you’re at. It may not be as bad as you think! Often, the fear of not really knowing how much you owe and to who can make it feel scarier than looking it straight in the eye. Like a monster in a scary movie – it’s so much scarier when it’s in your head until you actually see it.

Module 2: Calculating your Magic Amount.

Your Magic Amount is the amount of money that is working to pay your debt down. It’s where the magic happens. But, it has to be realistic! Too many times people set themselves up for failure by making unrealistic and overly aggressive debt repayment plans. “I have to pay this off in 6 months!” or “I will pack my lunch every single day and never buy a coffee again.” Then, inevitably, your plan fails and you feel like you’re bad with money. You’re not bad with money, the plan wasn’t realistic. Make a realistic plan. One that reflects your life and what’s important to you. This is the only way to stay motivated long enough to pay down all your debt and never fall back into the Debt Loop again.

Module 3: Debt Slammers – Pay off debt faster

Learn about ways to consolidate your debt, lower the interest rates and speed up your timeline.

Module 4: Your Debt Game Plan

Bring it all together. This is your plan. YOUR plan. You’ll find out what you need to do each month, payday or year, how long it’s going to take you until you’re living debt-free again and what you need to do to accomplish that.
